· Located on Renmin Road, Chongqing People’s Great Hall was built in the 1950s. It is an ancient-style national architectural complex and one of the unique landmark buildings in Chongqing.
· The Great Hall adopts architectural features of the Ming and Qing dynasties, with traditional central axis symmetry, and its exterior imitates the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in Beijing’s Temple of Heaven.
· It serves as the center for large-scale gatherings and performances in Chongqing. Important meetings such as the Municipal Party Congress, People’s Congress, Political Consultative Conference, and the Unveiling Ceremony of Chongqing’s Direct Jurisdiction, as well as international conferences, are all held here.
· At night, the Great Hall is beautifully illuminated, and many local elderly women dance on the square in front of the hall.
