It is located in Yangjiaping, Jiulongpo District. Founded in 1954, it is a large – scale comprehensive park in Chongqing.

There are more than 20 animal houses, breeding more than 150 species of animals, with a total of more than 1,200 animals. Among them, the rare animals include giant pandas, golden monkeys, cassowaries and so on.

It is a standing director of the China Zoo Association and a member unit of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
