Welcome to this five – day in – depth tour of Chongqing, where you can fully experience the unique charm of this fascinating mountain city.
Morning: Liberation Monument, a landmark building in Chongqing and a symbol of the city’s prosperity. There are many shopping malls nearby, and you can also taste various characteristic snacks. Afternoon: Head to Hongya Cave. Its unique stilt – house style of Bayu traditional architecture combined with the modern light – lit night view is amazing. Here, you can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery but also find many characteristic shops and delicious food. Evening: Have dinner near Hongya Cave. It is highly recommended to taste Chongqing hot pot. The pot bottom of Chongqing hot pot is spicy and fragrant. Morning: Yangtze River Cableway. Taking the cableway, you can enjoy the magnificent scenery on both sides of the Yangtze River and experience the unique feeling of crossing the river. The North Station of the Yangtze River Cableway is at No. 151, Xinhua Road, Yuzhong District, and the South Station is at No. 133, Longmen Road, Shangxin Street, Nan’an District. The operating hours are from 07:30 to 22:30. The one – way ticket price is 20 yuan, and the round – trip ticket price is 30 yuan.
Afternoon: Longmenhao Old Street, standing on the banks of the Yangtze River in Nan’an District. It retains many historical and cultural traces and is the best – preserved and largest historical and cultural old street in the main urban area of Chongqing. It can be reached on foot from the South Station of the Yangtze River Cableway. The address is at No. 105, Nanbin Road, Nan’an District.
Evening: Near the old street, taste the special food in Nan’an District, Spring Water Chicken. The chicken is tender, spicy, and delicious. Paired with refreshing vegetables, it is very tasty.
Morning: Eling 2nd Factory Cultural and Creative Park. It used to be a deserted factory, but now it has been transformed into a creative park full of artistic atmosphere. There are many characteristic shops and graffiti walls, which are great places for taking pictures. The address is at No. 1, Eling Zheng Street, Yuzhong District. You can take Rail Transit Line 1, get off at Eling Station, and then walk there.
Afternoon: Liziba Light Rail Station. Watch the unique scene of the light rail passing through the building and feel the charm of the unique combination of Chongqing’s terrain and transportation. The address is at Liziba Zheng Street, Yuzhong District. You can take Rail Transit Line 2 directly.
Evening: In a restaurant near Liziba, taste Spicy Chicken. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, wrapped in a large amount of dried chili peppers and Chinese prickly ash, with a spicy and delicious taste.
Morning: Ciqikou Ancient Town, full of the characteristics of Bayu traditional architecture and folk culture. You can taste various Chongqing – style snacks, such as Chen’s Mahua. The address is at Citong Road, Shapingba District. You can take Subway Line 1 and get off at Ciqikou Station.
Afternoon: Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, located on the west side of People’s Square. There are more than 170,000 cultural relics in the museum, allowing you to deeply understand the history and culture of the Three Gorges, the local history of Chongqing, the urban changes, and the anti – Japanese war culture. The address is at No. 236, Renmin Road, Yuzhong District. You can take Rail Transit Line 2 or Line 3 to Niujiaotuo Station, or Line 1 and Line 2 to Jiaochangkou Station, and then walk there.
Evening: In a restaurant near the ancient town, taste Mao Xuewang. The duck blood is tender, and when paired with ingredients like tripe and luncheon meat, it is stewed in a spicy and fragrant soup, with a strong flavor.
Morning: Nanshan One Tree Observation Deck. It is one of the best places to overlook the panorama of Chongqing. You can overlook the entire Yuzhong Peninsula and the night view of the two rivers, taking in the prosperity of the city. The address is in Nanshan Scenic Area, Nan’an District. You can take Bus No. 346 or 347, or take a taxi. The ticket price is 30 yuan, and you can buy tickets on platforms such as Meituan and Ctrip.
Afternoon: Have lunch near Nanshan, take a short rest, and then prepare to return, carrying the beautiful memories of Chongqing on your way back.
The terrain of Chongqing is complex, and the roads have large undulations. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes when traveling to facilitate walking.
